Speaker Demo Reel

A speaker reel that actually books gigs

I tell stories differently. Unconventionally. If you're looking for a global perspective and craft refined across 30+ stories in 10 different countries — you're in the right place.

You know the feeling when someone asks for your speaker reel and you kinda hesitate before sending it?

Not because it's terrible. It's just not you anymore.

The version of you people experience in person — the conversations after the keynote, the way they lean in when you're talking, the moments they come up afterward and say "I really needed that" — somehow never fully makes it online.

So people meet you in real life and say "Oh wow. You're way better than I expected."

That's not really a compliment.

Your online presence should already make people feel something before they ever get in the room.

What most demo reels get wrong

Most demo reels run the same formula.

Stitched keynote clips. Fast cuts. Applause shots. Corporate music. Forgettable.

But speaking isn't just information. People book speakers because of energy, trust, presence, conviction, feeling.

That's the part I care about capturing.

How we build it

Every project starts with conversation. Not a stiff branding exercise or a 5-page form — a couple of real conversations.

I want to understand what changed you, what drives you, what people feel when they hear you speak, and where you're headed next.

Then I build the film around emotional truth — on location, where your work actually happens. The audience reaction matters. The hallway conversations matter. The way people respond before and after the keynote matters.

Sometimes the most powerful part of a speaker isn't even what happens on stage. It's the feeling people leave with afterward.

That's what these films are built around.

Full reels are shared privately on the discovery call — including the Simon T. Bailey film and the two other speakers currently in our portfolio. We'd rather walk you through the work and answer your questions than auto-play it on a cold page.

A small bit about me

I know that feeling more personally than most.

I built a life full of stories people would stop and listen to — and still couldn't figure out how to translate that into real reach, real traction, real impact.

There's a specific kind of frustration that comes with that. When you know what you have matters, but it's not landing the way it should.

I'm a college drop-out who couch-surfed across the East Coast, carried my camera through Africa, South America, and Europe, and built everything scrappy. Over time I started noticing a pattern — with the founders and speakers I was filming, and with myself.

They had powerful ideas. They were already on stages. They were putting content out.

But nothing was compounding. They weren't becoming known for anything. Not remembered. Not referenced. Not rebooked at the level they should be.

There's a gap between showing up and becoming a thought leader.

I've filmed 30+ stories across 10 countries, and one thing always holds true: when the foundation is right, everything compounds. The work translates across cultures and languages because what we're capturing isn't the talk. It's the human underneath it.

What Simon T. Bailey said after the work

Hall of Fame Speaker · Former Disney Institute Sales Director · Author

"After 23 years as a professional speaker, I realized it was time to completely reimagine my demo reel — not just update footage, but redesign the way my story is told. I needed someone with a fresh eye, a global perspective, and the rare ability to blend artistry with strategy.

Enter Syd Meyer.

This wasn't a simple 'slice up some clips and stitch them together' assignment. We started with more than 30 different media assets collected over two decades. What I needed was someone who could distill all of it down to less than three minutes in a way that captured the essence of my work — the emotion, the transformation, the spark.

Syd didn't just step up to the plate. She knocked it out of the park.

She is a brilliant storyteller who took my vision and 10x'd it — shaping a demo reel that is not only beautiful and cinematic, but deeply intentional. She wove together substance, emotion, and narrative in a way that I will be able to use for years to come.

In fact, this is the best investment I've ever made in my brand, hands down.

If you're looking for someone who can elevate your message, sharpen your positioning, and translate your work into a world-class visual story, don't think twice about hiring Syd. She is worth every penny and then some."

Other speakers I've built this for

Parker Williams

Corporate mentalist-comedian. We repositioned him from "we just need someone" to "this is exactly who our people need." The film is the asset he sends to every bureau and decision maker.

Tim Gabrielson

Known in the room. Not yet booked from the room. We built the asset that closed that gap.

Honest answers to what you're probably wondering

How long does this take?

30–45 days for Core. 60–90 days for Spotlight. Narrative work doesn't compress, and that's part of why it's good.

Do I need to have great existing footage?

Ideally yes — the better your archive, the better the film. Think about your most impressive stages and the stages you want to get onto next. Do you have footage of those? If you do, we're in great shape. If not, we collect it. I have vetted videographer contacts in every major city, and we can capture what you need before production starts. Existing footage is a definite bonus. New capture is doable — it just adds to the scope.

Do I have to fly somewhere?

No. I come to you. Either at one of your scheduled speaking events or wherever you live and work.

Can I use the reel anywhere?

Yes. Perpetual, non-exclusive commercial usage — website, bureaus, social, paid ads. I retain portfolio rights to show the work.

Which tier is right for me?

Core if you're a working corporate speaker who needs a clean, modern, narrative-led reel for booking. Spotlight if you're evolving — a book launch, a movement, a category reframe — and the reel needs to anchor a bigger moment. Honest answer on the discovery call.

What if I'm not ready to book?

Book the call anyway. The call is free, the conversation is honest, and if the demo reel isn't the right fit right now I'll tell you which of the other two offers makes sense — or tell you to come back when you're ready.

Your online presence should already make people feel something
